Event at the capitol will celebrate school choice options for students and families

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Next Tuesday, the Alabama chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org will co-sponsor an event coinciding with National School Choice Week that is hosted by the Foundation for Excellence in Education, Alabama Federation for Children, Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund, the Business Council of Alabama, Students First Alabama, National School Choice Week, the Alabama Coalition for Public Charter Schools, and the Business Education Alliance. The event will bring together school choice advocates from across Alabama to celebrate National School Choice Week and support the many school choice options available to Alabama families.PublicSchoolOptions.org believes that every child, regardless of their zip code or how much money their parents make, deserves the best start in life. We firmly believe that begins with a parent’s ability to choose the school where their child will thrive — whether that’s in a traditional brick and mortar school, public virtual school, charter school, home school, or private school. Every child learns differently, even within the same family. Giving parents options so their child can succeed is critical.EVENT DETAILSNational School Choice Week CelebrationTuesday, January 2611:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.South lawn of the Alabama State CapitolPublicSchoolOptions.org will participate in National School Choice Week events in Maine, Indiana, Idaho, Virginia, Georgia, and Wyoming.STATEMENT FROM TILLIE ELVRUM, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG PRESIDENT AND SCHOOL CHOICE ADVOCATE:“We are excited to join other choice groups in Alabama to kick off National School Choice Week.
