Event at the capitol will celebrate school choice options; connect families with legislators

Oklahoma Virtual Education Students and Parents Rally for School ChoiceCITY – Next Wednesday, the Oklahoma chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org will host a capitol day to celebrate school choice, bringing together families that benefit from educational options – specifically virtual education. The event will give parents and students an opportunity to learn about legislation that could affect the future of school choice, meet with state legislators to let them know why school choice is important, and share their personal stories.PublicSchoolOptions.org believes that every child, regardless of their zip code or how much money their parents make, deserves the best start in life. We firmly believe that begins with a parent’s ability to choose the school where their child will thrive — whether that’s in a traditional brick and mortar school, public virtual school, charter school, home school, or private school. Every child learns differently, even within the same family. Giving parents options so their child can succeed is critical.EVENT DETAILSOklahoma Virtual Education Day at the Capitol Wednesday, February 10 11:00 a.m. Oklahoma State CapitolPublicSchoolOptions.org will hold capitol day events across the country during state legislative sessions to celebrate school choice options and urge lawmakers to expand choice for parents.STATEMENT FROM COLLEEN COOK, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG NATIONAL BOARD MEMBER AND OKLAHOMA PARENT LEADER:“We are excited to join with families from across the state to celebrate the benefits of school choice and share our personal stories about why virtual education works for our children.
