Parents & students will meet with legislatorsMONTGOMERY Ala. – On Wednesday, the Alabama chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org will host its annual 2017 Capitol Day Rally, bringing together parents and students from across the state to learn about the civic process, meet with legislators and share their stories about how school choice has benefitted their families. The PublicSchoolOptions.org Capitol Day will start with an educational program at 9:45 a.m., where more than 100 parents and students will learn more about the importance of giving each child and parent the choices they need to succeed. After the program, the group will walk to the Alabama State House where they will engage with their lawmakers. Finally, students and parents will hear from lawmakers themselves at the day’s final event, starting at 1 p.m.PublicSchoolOptions.org believes that every child, regardless of their zip code or how much money their parents make, deserves the best start in life. We firmly believe that begins with a parent’s ability to choose the school where their child will thrive — whether that’s in a traditional brick and mortar school, public virtual school, charter school, home school, or private school. Every child learns differently, even within the same family. Giving parents options so their child can succeed is critical.EVENT DETAILS2017 Capitol Day - RallyWednesday, March 19:45 a.m. – Capitol Day Rally Program2 North Jackson StreetMontgomery, Ala.OPEN PRESS2017 Capitol Day - Legislative Info SessionWednesday, March 11 p.m. – Capitol Day Legislative Info SessionJoint Briefing Room8th Floor, Alabama State House11 S Union StMontgomery, Ala.OPEN PRESSSTATEMENT FROM AMANDA ROCHA, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG ALABAMA PARENT LEADER:“We are grateful to the many Alabama lawmakers who trust parents to make education decisions for their children.
