Event at the capitol will celebrate school choice options for students and families

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Wednesday, February 21, the Oklahoma chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org (PSO) will host a capitol day rally at the Oklahoma state capitol for students and families to celebrate virtual education and school choice. The event will be attended by families from across Oklahoma who benefit from virtual education. Attendees will hear from school choice leaders and learn about legislation that could impact their schools of choice. They will also meet with legislators to share their personal school choice stories.

PublicSchoolOptions.org believes that every child, regardless of their zip code or how much money their parents make, deserves the best start in life. We firmly believe that begins with a parent’s ability to choose the school where their child will thrive — whether that’s in a traditional brick and mortar school, public virtual school, charter school, home school, or private school. Every child learns differently, even within the same family. Giving parents options so their child can succeed is critical.

STATEMENT FROM COLLEEN COOK, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG OKLAHOMA CHAPTER PARENT LEADER:

“We are excited to join with families from across Oklahoma to celebrate the incredible opportunities school choice, especially virtual education, has provided for our children. We hope lawmakers and education officials will establish policies that put even more trust in parents and provide them a seat at the decision-making table. Every child deserves access to the educational option that works best for them.”
