Committee will hear from South Carolina public charter schools WASHINGTON – The National Coalition for Public School Options (PSO) released the following statement ahead of today’s South Carolina Ad Hoc Committee on Charter Schools. The committee has been meeting to better understand the state’s charter school landscape, including the decision of 10 charter schools to seek a new authorizer outside of the South Carolina Public Charter School District. PSO has previously advocated for the rights of South Carolina’s charter schools to have the option to seek a new authorizer to better fit the needs of the schools and the students they serve.STATEMENT FROM KERRY LEVI, SOUTH CAROLINA PSO PARENT LEADER:“South Carolina parents are watching this ad hoc committee closely because it will inform policymaking that will affect students and families.
