Since becoming Executive Director of PSO in 2020, Kristen Tyagi has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to amplify the stories of our parent and student advocates. From pitching Op-eds to organizing DC Fly-ins and everything in between, Kristen’s self-less spirit pervades everything she does, and all of us at PSO are grateful for her leadership and friendship.

They are the women who advocate alongside. They are the ones who tell our stories.‍ This year’s theme for Women’s History Month is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.” And here at PSO we want to take the opportunity to recognize women who have embodied the spirit of this theme throughout their work with our organization.

HB1 as introduced is an important step forward for liberty and freedom in Florida. However, there are two small adjustments that have to made to HB1 so that parents that want religious offerings – and religious schools that want to offer online programming – are not discriminated against.

One of the greatest privileges I have cherished in my three years as president of PSO has been the opportunity to meet parents who share the same passion for championing the educational rights of our children. Their stories of overcoming hopeless situations have inspired me and countless school choice advocates to continue fighting on behalf of all families.

I went to the Arkansas State Capitol, the ultimate American experience. It was a beautiful sight to see. When I first got to the event we went to the Red and Blue building that is beside the Capitol. This event was put on in cooperation with the PSO (Public School Options).

Samoy Mainda has been advocating for educational options in Missouri since 2017. And last year she saw all her hard work and determination pay off when Governor Mike Parson signed House Bill 1552 into law, allowing her daughter Hannah to access a full-time virtual school.
